Terms of Service

Last updated July 21, 2026

This is a general-purpose template for a small software product, not a substitute for legal advice tailored to your organization or jurisdiction.

Agreement to these terms

By creating an account or using TallyHours, you agree to these terms. If you're setting up an organization, you're agreeing on behalf of that organization and confirming you're authorized to do so.

What the service does

TallyHours lets an organization configure a volunteer-hour policy, run events with sign-ups and waitlists, and track household hours against that policy, including calculating any shortfall amount owed. TallyHours does not process payments; any actual collection of money happens outside this product.

Accounts

  • You must be an adult to create an account or represent a household.
  • You're responsible for keeping access to your account secure.
  • Information you provide (your name, household/participant names, event and hours data) should be accurate.

Organization admin responsibilities

An organization admin is responsible for the policy they configure (required hours, buyout, deadlines), for how their staff and guides use the product, and for communicating their own policy accurately to households -- TallyHours only runs the math on the numbers an admin enters.

Acceptable use

Don't use TallyHours to:

  • Access data belonging to an organization you're not part of.
  • Interfere with the service's normal operation or security.
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content as organization branding.
  • Use the service for anything illegal under applicable law.

Your content

You and your organization retain ownership of the data you put into TallyHours (household names, event details, branding assets). You grant us permission to store and process it solely to provide the service to you.

Termination and deletion

You can delete your own account, and an organization admin can delete their entire organization, at any time from account settings -- both are permanent. We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of these terms.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
